"The new Art-Library of Tartu is an extremely interesting hybrid that will become an great addition to the city cultural life.In order to support this potential potent mix it is neccesary to create an inviting, open and truly public space that can become the mixing chamber of city life, library and museum.
We propose to create a new public network in the city - connecting historic buildings and plazas in Tartu with a new main cultural plaza. Together with the city´s existing main public spaces the new plaza will create an inner historic and cultural loop.
The cultural plaza is derived from the identity and the main intentions of the library and the museum. It is a new main public space in the city and it is the foyer and cultural mixing champer for the art library.
This plaza thus connects both city with building and library with museum. The Unifying plaza - a new symbol of the city".Adept
